Switzerland
Switzerland combines latest technologies and an almost patriarchal agricultural life in an astonishing way. These two worlds are harmoniously integrated in one unique system. On the one hand, one can fine the latest scientific developments, a powerful banking industry, unique high-technology production and modern infrastructure. On the other hand, most of the population lives on the countryside and despite of all listed modern blessings of civilization they live in a rather traditional and conservative way.
The political decision making process in Switzerland reflects a rather unique system: most of the decisions are taken by direct voting of the population and referendum. One would say the Swiss live their democracy actively. At the same time it is important to note that Switzerland has four state languages: German, French, Italian and Rhaeto-Romanic. Essential distinctions are evident not only by languages, but also by mentality and cultural features of each part of Switzerland. By common opinion Switzerland is seen as “a closed Europe club”, which is not far from true.
The country is quite attractive for various projects linked to high level of daily life, perfect infrastructure, geographical location in the centre of Europe and simply incredibly beautiful nature. But it is always necessary to remember that difficulties might occur connected with understanding and integration in this country.
